WT5x Volume Calculator
The WT5x calculation is used to calculate the reported volume for a WT5x intervention based on the assets delivered. Instead of relying on a separate spreadsheet, Rail BI allows users to enter asset details directly against an intervention and generate the calculated SEU count affected volume and effective volume within the application.
The calculation works by allowing the user to select the relevant asset class, asset type and quantity for the intervention. Rail BI then uses those inputs to calculate an updated result based on the assets that have actually been delivered. This allows users to compare the planned intervention values with the calculated values from the asset inputs. Where required, the calculated SEU count affected volume can then be proposed back to the intervention record so that Rail BI planning and reporting reflect the calculated WT5x result.
Accessing WT5x
WT5x data can be accessed from several places.
- Business Plan Change - Select Business Plan Change from the sidebar of any intervention and click Calculate WT5x Volume.
- Calendar - Select Delivery from the calendar options for an intervention, and choose the WT5x asset tab.
- CP Planning (Package View) - Select Delivery Information for an intervention or package, and choose the WT5x asset tab.
- Delivery Reporting - Select Delivery Information for an intervention or package, and choose the WT5x asset tab.
Using WT5x Calculator
Select the asset class, asset group and specific asset.

The SEU column shows the amount of SEU change per unit. Updating the quantity field shows a total SEU affected count based on this calculation.

Additional Assets
To add an additional asset, select a further option from the dropdown list.

Results Comparison
Based on the changes made, the results comparison shows the difference between calculated and planning values.

Save Asset Counts Only
Once a calculation has been entered, the option to Save Asset Counts only becomes available. This updates asset counts, but not Work Types or Volume.
Save and Propose Changes
To update Work Types or Volume, select the Save & Propose Changes option. This launches the change proposal modal for the current intervention or packge.
