Technology Policies

Technology policies can be edited by Admin Users. Policies allow rule definitions to define when a technology can be installed based on the existing technology type.

The Technology policies page can be found by selecting Settings from the sidebar of any Workbank, Technologies * Work Types then selecting Polocies.

Proposed Policies

When a new policy is proposed on an intervention, there may be assets that are not compatible with the new policy.

In this situation, a second intervention is created with the non-compatible assets.

This would be shown in the Edit Intervention modal under the Interventions Preview section.

  • The Existing column shows the current policy type.
  • The Proposed column shows the proposed policy type.
  • The Result column shows what policy will be applied to the non-compatible assets.

Search For Policy

To search for any policy, enter the lookup term in the search box at the top of the page.

The displayed data will then be filtered with any data that matches the entered search term.

Enter Edit Mode

Before editing any policy, a user must enter edit mode.

To do this, click Enter Edit Mode in the header.

A warning will be displayed at the top of the page to confirm the user can now edit the data.

To save any changes made in edit mode, select Save Changes. To discard any changes, select cancel.

Edit Rules

When in edit mode, select the Edit icon next to the relevant record to launch the Edit Rule modal.

Once the data has been ammended, click OK to save any changes or Cancel to discard any edits made.

Delete Rules

To delete a rule, click the Delete Rule icon on the relvant record.

A warning will be displayed confirming that this rule will be deleted.

Click OK to confirm the deletion of the rule, or Cancel to cancel the operation.

Worktype Scemes

Click the name of the policy you'd like to add a worktype scheme for, then once on the policy window select Enter Edit Mode.

A warning will be displayed confirming the policy is in Edit mode.

Add New Policy

To add a new policy, select the Add icon to launch the Add Policy modal.

Example:

In this example, we have selected MGC-SH as the existing technology.

When this technology type is selected, and LX - Close - Auto (S) is chosen, it will be corrected to LX-Close-MSL: CLose Automatic (MSL) Closing.

To save the new policy, select OK or click cancel to discard any changes.

Edit An Existing Policy

To edit a policy, click on the edit icon on the relevant record to launch the Edit Policy modal.

Once changes have been made, select OK to save any changes or cancel to discard any edits made.

Delete A Policy

Select the delete icon next to the relevant policy.

A warning will be displayed to confirm the deletion. Click OK to delete the policy, or cancel to cancel the deletion.

Setting Technology Policies For Workbanks

To add an updated technology policy to a workbank, select Option Settings from the sidebar of your workbank then navigate to the Advanced Tab. Finally, look for the Scheduling section.

Worktype Scheduling

Select the name of the policy to be applied, then choose the version to be applied.
